When attempting the fix detailed in the link above, I had used the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit for Windows 10 20H1. People on Reddit have gotten the UI lag fixed in Windows 8.1 and earlier releases of Windows 10. "20H2" refers to it being the release from the second half of 2020. I'm using the latest stable release of Windows 10, Windows 10 20H2. I tried disabling scaling in Nvidia Control Panel and several different ways in Windows. It's an issue experienced on Windows 8 and above. I emailed the page maintainer regarding the lag that I was experiencing when the UI was open. It says that Python 2.7 is required, but in the download is a script for Python 2.7 and a script for Python 3.x. This GitHub page provides a Python script that does the hex editing for you. 9/17/2023 0 Comments Twig blight 5e tokenSterilize the cutting implement between cuts with a ten percent bleach and water solution. Rake up any debris under your juniper and prune out diseased foliage tips. Fungi are spread via spores that can adhere to equipment or overwinter in dropped foliage and plant material. Sterilization of cutting implements will also help prevent the spread of the fungus. Good twig blight control starts with good clean-up practices. This form of juniper twig blight will produce fruiting bodies called pycnidia that can be found at the base of dead foliage. It may move into main branches and cause cankers which are the open areas of tissue in woody plant material. Phomopsis, the most common form of juniper twig blight, can progress to girdle young branches and prevent water and nutrients from reaching the ends of the growth. Any material that contracts the fungus in the fall will show symptoms in spring. Phomopsis can attack the juniper in spring, summer, and in fall. During the wet spring, the fungus is most active and can be spread by splashing water, droplets carried in the air, and introduced into damaged or cut wood. The fungus reproduces from spores, which can be born on wind or cling to animals and clothes but are more often moved via water. The new tissue is the most often infected with juniper twig blight and symptoms show up approximately two weeks later. The fungi will eventually produce tiny black fruiting bodies that appear three to four weeks after infection. The foliage will turn light green, reddish brown, or even dark gray and the dead tissue will gradually creep into the central foliage of the plant. Juniper twig blight is characterized by the dieback of the terminal growth of an afflicted evergreen plant. It not only affects juniper but also arborvitae, white cedar, cypress, and false cypress. Fungi thrive when there is adequate moisture and warm temperatures, which is why this juniper disease shows up in spring. Juniper twig blight can be caused by Phomopsis, Kabatina, or Scllerophoma pythiophila but the more commonly found is the Phomopsis fungus. Juniper twig blight disease is a disfiguring plant problem, although annual persistent symptoms can cause severe damage to young plants. Phomopsis twig blight is one of the more common fungi that cause the disease in junipers. It attacks the tender new shoots and terminal ends of plants. 9/17/2023 0 Comments Astronomer kubernetesIn our A Hua He Inoa program, we take fluent Hawaiian language speakers-young people, high schoolers, college-age students, and teachers out there in Hawaiian-medium and Hawaiian immersion schools-and investigate our Hawaiian cosmology and the origins of our universe as documented in our Hawaiian chants and records. What are other ways that ‘Imiloa helps bridge the cultural and scientific communities? We’ve brought different knowledge holders together-whether they were people with Hawaiian cultural knowledge, language experts or astronomical experts from Hawaii and from around the world-to sit and talk about cultural and local ways of connecting to the skies, along with some of the scientific research and scientific communities’ ways of looking at the skies. That’s the position we’ve taken on anything, really-to be a place to come, learn and have hard discussions around issues that are contentious, as well as issues that aren’t. But where I hope we’re helpful is in providing opportunities where you can get actual, factual and direct shared learning experiences on the TMT, as opposed to hearsay or assumptions. ‘Imiloa’s position is to be a place of sharing and learning, and it’s up to individuals and the community to formulate their own opinions. What role does ‘Imiloa take in this issue? Some Hawaiians and activists oppose its construction on Maunakea, saying the land is sacred. As you know, the TMT is a large telescope that will let scientists see deeper into space. ‘Imiloa aspires to be a place that shares and grows those stories and connections in and amongst our local and global communities.Ĭulture and science are clashing when it comes to the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) being built on Maunakea. So we start with those connections to learn about the mountain’s natural features and uniqueness, as well as its cultural and lineal connections through the Hawaiian community, and then onto more recent connections through the modern astronomical research that’s taking place on Maunakea. Because this is a Hawaiian place, there are Hawaiian connections to Maunakea. ‘Imiloa is a place that shares stories of connection to place, specifically Maunakea. How would you describe the ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center? Kimura, who Hawaii Business magazine included on its “20 for the next 20″ list of people to watch, discusses the challenges and rewards of directing a center that highlights both science and culture for its local community. She holds a leadership role at the UH Hilo College of Hawaiian Language, helped reestablish the Hawaii Island Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce, and has been an Omidyar Fellow and Pacific Century Fellow. Kimura, a native Hawaiian, was asked to help plan ‘Imiloa while she was a graduate student studying Hawaiian language at the University of Hawaii Hilo. Since the 1970s, Hawaiians have been relearning and reviving the art and science of wayfinding and traditional (non-instrument) navigation, which uses an indigenous knowledge of the skies and other observations of nature. Polynesians were excellent navigators who traveled the open ocean for thousands of years. Ka’iu Kimura, executive director of ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center ‘Imiloa, which attracts 100,000 visitors per year, focuses on early Polynesian navigation history and knowledge of the night skies, Hawaiian culture and wayfinding today and the growth of astronomy on Hawaii Island, primarily atop the mountain Maunakea. Ka’iu Kimura is executive director of ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center, a Hawaiian cultural and astronomy education center in Hilo, Hawaii, that brings together members of the Hawaiian and astronomical communities to share a common vision for the future. It is an interesting thing that is happening now and I have seen it in my students who are all into watching shows like Friends. "My background is cult cinema and there has been a lot done around nostalgia in cult cinema and what people become nostalgic for, even things that were not around when they were born. "Every generation looks back at past trends," says Dr Middlemost, an expert in pop culture. There's been the resurgence of vinyl as the trend-setters' choice of music consumption rather than the ease of a digital download, and now the hipsters have discovered the nostalgic sound of a whirring cassette from which to enjoy the dulcet tones of everyone from Salt-N-Pepa to Rick Astley.ĭr Renee Middlemost, a Lecturer in Global Communication and Media in the University of Wollongong's Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts, says the sense of nostalgia that seems to be gripping Generation Z is influenced, paradoxically, by the huge amount of pop culture content with which they are faced. Pop culture used to define a generation, but it seems the cultural, music and fashion trends of the 1990s have been recycled, and what Generation X considered its rite of passage into adulthood, is being discovered and claimed by fledgling grown-ups as their own. My old clothes are now considered 'vintage', I could be making an extra income from my vinyl collection, and those dusty magnetic video boxsets are once again all the rage. When I moved from the 1990s into the 2000s, I put my denim shirt and skinny legs jeans in the back of the cupboard, the old records in the garage, and the video cassettes in the bin. 9/16/2023 0 Comments Butler outpatientSo, the program should generate a return on investment, and it ensures that our members have access to high quality care."Ĭhristopher Cheney is the senior clinical care editor at HealthLeaders. "The cost of the case managers, which is the component that we are adding, should ultimately result in a net savings from reduced readmissions. The Transitional Outpatient Program should be a good example of a behavioral health initiative that generates a return on investment and improved clinical outcomes, Fleury says. That would be about 14 fewer readmissions per year," she says. If we can achieve a 5% reduction in readmissions-taking into account the costs of the case managers-we expect to have about $118,000 worth of net savings per year. "The main quality metric that we are looking at is readmissions-we are hoping to lower 30-day readmissions for members who go through this program by 5%. Readmissions are the primary metric being used to gauge the effectiveness of the Transitional Outpatient Program, says Sarah Fleury, LICSW, manager of behavioral health at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island. So, a medication provider will assess that and adjust medications as needed to make sure that medications are continuing to work for the patient." In seeing a provider after patients leave the hospital, sometimes there are further medication adjustments as their symptoms improve or as they adapt to the medications. "Patients often have medication changes done when they are in the hospital. Medication management is another key element of the Transitional Outpatient Program, Gaudiano says. We also make sure our therapists provide safety planning to reduce suicide risk." Often, there is cognitive-behavioral treatment and short-term counseling that is provided. We want to make sure patients are supported in achieving those goals. "Typically, it is a short-term model of care that identifies the patient's goals after hospital discharge. Therapy is individualized for the patients based on their mental health needs, he says. So, this program does not require completely new staff because we can repurpose some staff or expand their duties to include this new program." They are basically devoting some of their time for this new program, but they were already employed at the hospital. "We also have the outpatient therapists and prescribers, which include psychiatrists. Two part-time case managers are the only new hires for the Transitional Outpatient Program, Gaudiano says. The case manager can help the patient access services for housing, financial issues, or other problems that they might be having," he says. There might be several social determinants of health issues that a case manager can address and help the patient problem-solve. Often, patients need help with a variety of different issues that they are dealing with in the community. We feel that if patients have short-term case management, that extra support that patients need in a limited time can help to reduce rehospitalizations. "Adding in case management provides an extra level of support and care that otherwise is not typical of care when patients leave the hospital. The most innovative element of the new program is case management, Gaudiano says. How the Transitional Outpatient Program was implemented It is nonadherence problems and not being able to manage stressors effectively that trigger relapse and rehospitalization." We can make sure that patients are being followed up, monitored, and reassessed for any kind of risk factors that might be developing. "Our approach prevents things like nonadherence to treatment-we can make sure that we are supporting the patient, make sure that they can continue with their medication, and make sure that they can continue to get to their appointments. We will achieve this through an unwavering commitment to the individual and organizational excellence and technological innovation. With the new program, patients get support from a team of professionals who work together to monitor the patients' situations, help them to problem-solve, and identify if there are certain needs that are not being met that can be addressed with services, Gaudiano says.
